Initially, Managing General Agents and General Agents will be growth channels, and gradually, the team will also recruit program underwriters, acquire companies, and develop products organically to meet market needs. To this end, the Specialty Lines team is laser-focused on working with entrepreneurial intermediaries who need a flexible partner to seize market opportunities.

Team
Deb has over 30 years of experience in business operations, sales, project management, corporate governance, and human resource management. Since 2001, she has been with Rockingham Insurance. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in International Business and her Master's in Business Administration from James Madison University.

Kevin joined Rockingham Insurance in 2003 after graduating from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in Finance. His first position was as a Claims Systems development and business analyst, then he transitioned into managerial roles, overseeing the Customer Care team and Underwriting Manager. During this period, Kevin earned his MBA at James Madison University and pursued several industry designations, including AINS, API, CISR, and CIC.

Melissa began her career at Rockingham Insurance in 2017 after several years in compliance and administrative roles. She has a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from American National University.

Alex has worked in the insurance industry since 2017, with experience in customer service, project and product management. He graduated from Radford University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Analytics at Maryville University. In 2021, he joined Rockingham Insurance as a product analyst in the Commercial Lines division before joining the Specialty Lines team in 2023.

Rockingham Specialty partners with Atlas General Insurance Services, a national multi-line program manager, to offer these exclusive programs: General Contractors commercial general liability and Artisan Contractors commercial general liability insurance.
The program is now available in over 40 states.
The exclusive programs feature competitive broker commissions and incentives, flexible payment plans, and loss control services.
The general contractor segment of the program provides general liability coverage for small to medium-sized general contractors. The industry segments include residential homebuilders, commercial builders and general contractors involved in residential or commercial remodeling and tenants’ improvements.
The artisan contractor segment of the program provides general liability coverage for small to medium-sized artisan contractors. This includes residential and commercial contractors involved in new construction and service/repair/remodel work.
As conditions change in the commercial property market, many commercial insurance brokers use shared and layered insurance and deductible buy-down products to secure coverage for property risks. Ethos Specialty Insurance Services is a world-class Managing General Underwriter, partnering with Rockingham Specialty Insurance to offer this coverage for various classes, including but not limited to: office, retail, general commercial, habitational, warehouses, and builders risk.
Cabrillo Coastal General Insurance Agency, a regional expert in coastal property insurance, partnered with Rockingham Specialty to offer residential property insurance products on the eastern seaboard. With sophisticated pricing techniques, experienced underwriting, and quality claims handling, Cabrillo’s manufactured home product began availability in 2016.
Harbor Claims provides claims service. Harbor Claims is well regarded for its timeliness and effectiveness in handling claims, especially when there are tropical storms or hurricanes.
SES Insurance Brokerage Services, Inc., a leading provider of insurance services for large real estate portfolios, partnered with Rockingham Specialty in 2019 to offer Residential Real Estate Investor insurance throughout the United States. SES has offered this competitive product to Real Estate Investors since 2014 through an unparalleled combination of service and technology platforms.
SES offers a Real Estate Investors master policy which covers schedules of one to four family residential rental properties. Their TIMS platform makes it easy for policyholders to add and remove properties and change their policies.
SES offers a commercial package policy that covers schedules of small to medium-sized apartments, condominiums, and cooperatives.
NEC Specialty, a specialized wholesaler, has partnered with Rockingham Specialty and Trans Re to offer a Contractors General Liability policy in the northeast. NEC Specialty’s policy excludes New York Labor Law coverage, but is available to small to medium sized general contractors and artisans across 80+ classes and includes blanket additional insured, primary and non-contributory and waiver of subrogation policy wording.
